Real Madrid and Brazil left-back Marcelo has named his toughest opponent ever faced, and it’s none other than Lionel Messi of Barcelona. In an interview with the Spanish outlet AS, Marcelo revealed that he considers Messi to be the most difficult player he’s ever come up against.

Marcelo, who has spent more than a decade at Real Madrid and has won numerous titles with the club, has faced Messi many times in El Clasico matches and other encounters between the two Spanish giants.
When asked about his toughest opponent, Marcelo said: “It has to be Messi. He’s a very difficult player to defend against. He’s quick, he’s strong, he’s got great technique, and he can score from anywhere. You have to be at your best to stop him.”

Despite the intense rivalry between Barcelona and Real Madrid, Marcelo has always spoken highly of Messi, and he has often praised the Argentine’s abilities on the pitch.
Marcelo also went on to talk about his time at Real Madrid, saying that he feels privileged to have played for such a great club. “Real Madrid is like a family to me,” he said. “I’ve been here for many years, and I’ve won so many titles with this club. It’s an honor to play for Real Madrid.”
The Brazilian defender has been a key player for Real Madrid over the years, and he has won four Champions League titles and five La Liga titles with the club. Despite being in his mid-30s, he remains an important part of the team and is still considered to be one of the best left-backs in the world.

As Real Madrid continue their push for silverware this season, Marcelo will no doubt be called upon to help the team in their quest for success. And, as he has shown time and time again, he is more than capable of rising to the challenge, even when facing tough opponents like Lionel Messi.
